What these upgrades involve

Amenities upgrades renew bathrooms and accessible facilities across a building’s floors, usually to a consistent new standard. End-of-trip projects create or expand showers, change rooms, lockers, drying areas and bike storage, often in basement or ground-floor space that was not originally designed for wet areas.

Both scopes are services-led. Hydraulic, mechanical exhaust, electrical and fire interfaces run through risers shared with other floors, and the quality of the waterproofing and falls determines whether the finished facility stays dry for the long term.

How DYME plans the works

Planning confirms the services capacity and riser access with the building’s consultants, the shutdown windows needed for hydraulic and mechanical connections, and the order in which floors or facilities will be taken out of service. Temporary facilities or redirection of tenants to adjacent floors are agreed with the building manager before works begin.

Long-lead items such as sanitaryware, lockers, partitions and stone are released early. Each facility is sequenced from strip-out and services rough-in through waterproofing, tiling and fit-off to commissioning, with inspection points at waterproofing and before close-up.

Delivery and returning facilities to service

Works proceed on a limited number of floors or facilities at a time, with protection of lift lobbies and corridors, controlled noise hours and clear signage directing tenants to alternative facilities. Shutdowns are carried out within the agreed windows and reinstated the same day wherever possible.

Each facility is commissioned, cleaned and inspected before it is reopened and the next is taken. For a Sydney or NSW amenities or end-of-trip enquiry, share the building address, the number of floors or facilities in scope, existing drawings, tenancy status, preferred work period and a budget range.

Common questions

How many floors of bathrooms are out of service at once?
Typically only a few, agreed with the building manager so that tenants always have facilities within a short distance. The sequence is set in the programme before works start.
Can an end-of-trip facility be built in an existing basement?
Often, subject to drainage, ventilation and services capacity. These are confirmed with the building’s consultants at planning stage so that the design is achievable before works are priced.
How are water shutdowns handled?
Hydraulic connections are planned into shutdown windows agreed with the building manager, usually outside business hours, with services reinstated the same day wherever possible.
